Ember POS

Billing is built for a queue. The cashier scans barcodes, weighs loose items on a connected scale, applies offers and takes payment by UPI, card, cash or a mix. The UPI QR code appears on the customer display with the exact amount, and the payment is matched to the bill automatically. The GST invoice prints on the thermal printer or goes to the customer on WhatsApp.

Returns and exchanges take seconds, against the original bill. If the internet drops, the counter keeps billing and syncs everything when the connection returns.

Different shops track different things, and Ember POS tracks what yours needs:

• pharmacies and groceries: batches and expiry dates, with the earliest-expiring stock sold first and alerts before stock expires;
• apparel and footwear: sizes and colours as variants of one product, with stock by size;
• electronics and mobiles: serial and IMEI numbers recorded for every unit sold;
• distributors: separate retail and wholesale price lists, and bulk billing for trade customers.

Many shops sell on credit to trusted customers. Ember POS keeps a ledger for each credit customer, with a credit limit and every bill and payment. Payment reminders go out on WhatsApp with a UPI link, payments are recorded against the right bills, and the owner sees total dues at any moment.

Every sale, return, purchase and transfer updates stock at once, in every shop and the warehouse. Transfers between locations are sent and received in the system, so stock in transit is never lost. Stock counts are done shelf by shelf on an Android phone, and any difference is recorded with a reason.

Purchase orders go to suppliers from the system. When goods arrive, they are received against the order, and the supplier’s bill is matched to what actually came. Supplier dues are always clear.

Reorder suggestions come from how fast each product actually sells in each shop and how long each supplier takes to deliver. Fast movers stay in stock, and slow movers stop piling up.

Owners see what sells, where and when, who sold it, and what each shop earns, every day and every month, with margins by product and category. Sales, purchases and payments go to your accountant or to Tally, so the books match the counter without retyping.

Ember POS runs on Windows computers and Android devices at the counter, with standard hardware: barcode scanners, thermal receipt printers, label printers for barcodes, cash drawers, customer displays and weighing scales. Products without barcodes get printed labels on the spot.
