Before the clinic opens, the day’s appointments are already in the calendar: booked online overnight, by phone yesterday, or as follow-ups from last week. As patients arrive, the front desk checks them in, or patients scan a QR code with their ABHA app to register themselves. Everyone in the waiting room can see the live queue and how long they will wait.

When a patient walks in, the doctor already has their history on screen: past visits, diagnoses, allergies, lab reports and current medicines. The doctor talks to the patient, not the keyboard. Afterwards, the AI’s draft notes are waiting to be checked, the prescription is built from a template in seconds, and the bill is ready at the desk before the patient reaches it.

With the patient’s consent, the doctor speaks during or after the consultation, in the way they naturally would. AI turns it into structured visit notes: presenting complaints, examination findings, diagnosis, investigations and advice.

The doctor reads the draft, corrects what needs correcting and saves it. Nothing reaches the patient’s record without the doctor’s approval. The time saved goes back to patients.

Doctors build prescriptions from their own templates for common conditions, with medicines, dosage, timing and instructions, and adjust them for each patient. Allergies and current medicines are shown as the prescription is written. Every prescription carries the doctor’s name, qualifications and registration number, prints clearly or goes to the patient’s phone, and stays in the record for the next visit.

Different clinics record different things, and Pulse Clinic has templates for each:

• dental: a tooth chart, treatment plans across visits, and procedure billing;
• skin and hair: photo records over time, taken and stored with the patient’s consent;
• physiotherapy: session plans, exercises and progress across a course of treatment;
• gynaecology and paediatrics: antenatal visits, growth charts and vaccination schedules.

Pulse Clinic works with ABHA, the Ayushman Bharat Health Account. Patients register at the desk by scanning a QR code with their ABHA app, which fills in their details without typing. Their records can be linked to their ABHA health ID, so they can share them with another doctor or hospital when they choose.

Consultations, procedures and treatment packages are billed in a few taps and paid by UPI, card or cash. The owner sees the day’s collections by doctor and payment method, outstanding package balances, and how the clinic is doing month by month.

Appointment reminders, follow-up reminders, vaccination schedules and medicine reminders go out on WhatsApp and SMS automatically. Patients who miss a follow-up are flagged to the front desk, so nobody quietly drops out of their treatment.

Each clinic’s data is kept separate, stored in India and encrypted. Receptionists see what the front desk needs, doctors see their patients’ records, and owners see the whole clinic. Every access to a patient record is logged, and consent for AI notes and photos is recorded with the record.
