The company

This startup connects families across Gujarat with registered doctors by video, in Gujarati, Hindi or English. Patients can see general physicians, paediatricians, gynaecologists and dermatologists without travelling.

Patients book in the app or on WhatsApp. After the call, they receive an e-prescription, book lab tests with a technician visiting their home, and get medicines delivered by partner pharmacies. Every consultation, report and prescription stays together for the next visit.

Why we back it

Good medical advice shouldn’t need a day’s travel or a second language. A doctor and a clinic operator who built the service around the patient’s own language, in a market that keeps growing: that is what we back.

The problem it solves

Families in Gujarat’s towns and villages often travel for hours to see a doctor for a follow-up that could have been a short conversation. That means a lost day’s work, travel costs, and a long wait at the clinic.

Online consultations have had clear rules in India since 2020, yet most telemedicine apps speak only English and feel built for big cities. Patients who think in Gujarati struggle to describe symptoms and understand advice, and those with long-term conditions such as diabetes drop out of regular follow-ups.

How the service works

Patients book a consultation in the app or by sending a message on WhatsApp, choosing a speciality, a doctor and a time. At the appointment, the doctor joins a video call with the patient’s history on screen.

After the call, the patient receives an e-prescription in the app. They can book any lab tests on it, and a technician from a partner lab visits their home, with the report arriving in the app. Medicines can be ordered from partner pharmacies for delivery. Follow-ups are booked from the prescription, and reminders keep long-term patients on track.

Built within the rules

The platform is built around India’s Telemedicine Practice Guidelines:

  • every doctor’s medical registration is verified before they can consult;
  • patient consent is recorded before every consultation;
  • prescriptions carry the doctor’s name, qualifications and registration number;
  • the guidelines’ medicine lists are enforced, so a medicine that can’t be prescribed online can’t be added.

What FIRELIFE built

FIRELIFE engineers build and run the platform with the startup’s team:

  • the patient app in Gujarati, Hindi and English, and booking on WhatsApp;
  • the doctor app, with video, patient history and e-prescriptions;
  • the AI scribe, which drafts consultation notes and prescriptions for the doctor’s approval, with the patient’s consent;
  • links to partner labs and pharmacies;
  • ABHA linking, so patients can keep their records under India’s digital health mission.

Health data is stored in India, encrypted, and handled in line with India’s data protection law.

Questions and answers

10 answered

What does this Ahmedabad HealthTech startup do?

It is a HealthTech startup from Ahmedabad, backed by FIRELIFE Ventures. It connects patients with registered doctors by video in Gujarati, Hindi and English, with e-prescriptions, lab tests at home, medicines delivered by partner pharmacies and follow-up care.

Are online doctor consultations legal in India?

Yes. India's Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, issued in 2020, allow registered medical practitioners to consult patients by video, voice and text, and to issue e-prescriptions within set rules.

Which medicines can be prescribed online?

The telemedicine guidelines set lists of medicines that can and can't be prescribed by teleconsultation, depending on the type of consultation. The platform follows those lists, so a medicine that can't be prescribed online can't be added to an online prescription.

Why do consultations in Gujarati and Hindi matter?

Patients describe symptoms most clearly in the language they think in, and understand advice better too. Many patients in Gujarat's towns and villages prefer to speak to a doctor in Gujarati or Hindi.

How are the doctors checked?

Every doctor's medical registration is verified before they can consult, and their name, qualifications and registration number appear on every prescription.

How does the AI scribe help doctors?

With the patient's consent, the AI listens to the consultation and drafts the notes and prescription. The doctor checks, edits and approves everything, and nothing reaches the patient without the doctor's approval.

Can patients get lab tests without visiting a lab?

Yes. Patients book tests from their prescription, a technician from a partner lab visits their home, and the report arrives in the app, where the doctor sees it too.

How is health data protected?

Health data is stored in India and encrypted, each person sees only what their role needs, and consent is recorded, in line with India's data protection law.

What does FIRELIFE Ventures bring to the startup?

An engineering team that builds and runs the platform with the startup, the AI scribe, product design, cloud infrastructure in India and careful handling of health data.

Can other startups pitch to FIRELIFE Ventures?

Yes. Founders with a working product and early customers can pitch through the contact page, choosing Pitch my startup.
